Description
Documents and newspaper clippings created and collected by Robert “Bob” L. Jones, an environmental activist, for whom the Bob Jones City to Sea Trail between Avila and San Luis Obispo, is named.
Background
Robert “Bob” L. Jones was an environmental activist and pioneer in the field of environmentalism on the central coast. He worked for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife for over 23 years and was president of the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County from 1987 to 1989. He had a lifelong interest in environmental protection. Bob Jones died in 1994 and the trail was named for him in 1998.
