This addition to the collection of papers of Hubert Howe Bancroft was purchased from the Alta California Bookstore in August 1972. It includes correspondence, manuscripts of Bancroft's writings, clippings concerning him and his work, samples of History Company and Bancroft Library stationery, and photographs. Many portraits of Bancroft and some photographs of the History Company have been removed and indexed separately in the portrait and picture collections.
