The D. Ghirardelli Co. Photograph Album of Chocolate Manufacturing Process was received as a gift from the estate of Dorothy
E. Cameron in 1992.
Scope and Content
The D. Ghirardelli Co. Photograph Album of Chocolate Manufacturing Process contains 56 photographic prints taken of the D.
Ghirardelli Company chocolate factory in San Francisco circa 1919. The album features views of the factory grounds, machinery,
packaging areas, stock rooms, and delivery vehicles, as well as scenes of unidentified factory workers involved in various
stages of the chocolate manufacturing process. The album also contains a photograph presumably of Lyle Ghirardelli, and a
scene of a company truck at the San Francisco waterfront picturing the Ferry Building in the background.
