Abstract: The collection contains research files (notes, articles, clippings), bibliography cards, and picture postcards, mainly relating
to concepts of time throughout history and among various cultures. Donald C. Davidson was University Librarian at UCSB for
many years (1947-1977) and the collection reflects his longstanding interest in the study of time.
Physical Location: A portion of the collection is located at the Southern Regional Library Library Facility (SRLF).

Scope and Content of Collection
The collection contains research files (notes, articles, clippings), bibliography cards, and picture postcards, mainly relating
to concepts of time throughout history and among various cultures. Donald C. Davidson was University Librarian at UCSB for
many years (1947-1977) and the collection reflects his longstanding interest in the study of time.
The collection also contains a number of printed works relating to the study of time, as well as other topics. These have
been cataloged separately and can be searched in the UCSB Libraries online catalog.

collection, and describing the trials he faced in keeping pace with the academic needs of a growing institution. Also 1993
