Description
The Luis W. Alvarez papers include correspondence, research files, diaries, reports, and notes documenting Professor Alvarez's
accomplishments as a professor in the Department of Physics at the University of California, Berkeley, and as a research associate
at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Projects documented include Alvarez's work as a member of the Manhattan Project,
his studies of hyperon events in balloon-flown emulsions, his contributions to the Pyramid Project, and his research on bubble
chambers. The collection also includes the draft for Alvarez's autobiography,
Alvarez: Adventures of a Physicist.
