Description
The Poetry Journals and Chapbooks Collection provides a representative sample of the poetry published in the United States
during the 1970s and early 1980s. The collection includes poetry chapbooks and journal issues, literary catalogs, publishing
guides, magazine and press directories, broadsides, art prints, and other items. Most of the poetry journals and chapbooks
were produced by small presses in the United States. A few of the journals contain interviews with writers and poets and some
contain articles of poetry criticism. The journal titles include
Big Moon,
Bug Tar,
The Chowder Review,
Green's Magazine,
Kayak,
Vagabond,
Wind, and
The Wormwood Review. This collection is arranged into two series: Series I. Poetry Journals and Chapbooks 1930-1984 (bulk 1972-1983), n.d.; Series
II. Miscellaneous Poetry 1970-1984 (bulk 1973-1979), n.d. In addition, there are a few feature poems by Charles Bukowski located
in Series II.
