    Scope and Content of Collection

Photograph album of a General Electric executive's family in Japan, 1929, with about 300 b/w photos and ephemera such as newspaper clippings, telegrams, cards, ships' menus, passenger lists, postcards, pamphlets, invitations, theater tickets and programs, and hotel menus. Gladys [Mrs. Will] Pruessman accompanied her parents-in-law to Japan, where her father-in-law, Otto, was a V.P. of International G.E. and Managing Director of Tokyo Electric Co. In addition to snapshots of the family, the album includes numerous images (snapshots and commercial) of Yokohama, Tokyo, Miyanoshita, Nara, Nikko, street and countyside scenes, Kabuki theatre, as well as trips to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Manila, and a stop in Honolulu on the way home.
