Abstract: Assembly Member Lou Correa, Democrat, was elected to the Legislature in 1998. Correa represented Assembly District 69, which
includes central Orange County and is dominated by Santa Ana in the south and stretches north to take in parts of Garden Grove
and Anaheim. The Lou Correa Papers consist of 2.5 cubic feet of records reflecting Correa's activities during his time as
an Assembly Member from 1999 to 2004. The bill files document his legislative activity during his term as a member of the
California State Legislature.

Biography
Assembly Member Lou Correa, Democrat, was elected to the Legislature in 1998. Correa represented Assembly District 69, which
includes central Orange County and is dominated by Santa Ana in the south and stretches north to take in parts of Garden Grove
and Anaheim. Tourism, small businesses, the aerospace industry, and the building and construction industry are the district's
top job producers.
Correa was born in East Los Angeles on January 24, 1958, but was raised in Anaheim. He received a B.A. in Economics from California
State University, Fullerton, and a M.B.A. and a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. Correa worked as an investment
banker, a small businessman, a realtor, a mortgage banker, and as a part-time teacher. He was a member of the California State
Bar, California Faculty Association, Hispanic Chamber, Anaheim Sunrise Rotary Club, Los Amigos, and a licensed member of the
National Association of Securities Dealers. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Community Development
Council and the Small Business Board. He was termed out in 2004.
