Description
This collection contains papers having to do with land plots in the Wilmington area of Los Angeles, California owned by sisters Maria Jesus De Shorb, Annie Wilson, and Ruth Patton. Included in the collection are declaration of trust papers, deeds and title papers, tax reports, receipts, statements, court papers, and correspondence.
Background
Maria Jesus De Shorb (1844-1917), Annie Wilson (1854-?), and Ruth Patton (1861-1928), are the daughters of Benjamin Davis Wilson, a prominent California statesman and politician during the 1800’s. Maria is the daughter of Ramona Yorba, the first wife of Wilson, and Annie and Ruth are the daughter’s of Margret Hereford, Wilson’s second wife. Southern California’s Mt. Wilson was named after Benjamin Davis Wilson.
