Biographical/Historical Sketch
Herman Phleger was a member of the Stanford Board of Trustees' committee to recommend a new president for Stanford, following
the unexpected death of Donald B. Tresidder in 1948.
Collection includes the information sheets on possible candidates with biographical information and comments on the candidates,
communications with faculty, text of Phleger's address at a dinner in honor of Sterling in April 1968 which discusses the
process of the committee, and a letter from Sterling to Phleger, 1975.
