The records contained in the CSU Historical Archives Advisory Committee Papers date from 1962 to the present but mostly concern
1981-1997. These records provide insight into the concerns and activities of CSU Archives Advisory Committee, which was developed
to support and advise the CSU Historical Archives.
In 1979, the California State University and College Board of Trustees, with an eye on the up coming 20th anniversary of CSU
system, established the California State University and Colleges Historical Archives Project. The project, which became the
California State University Historical Archives, is housed at CSU Dominguez Hills. The archive was established to include
selected materials related to the origins and development (approximately 1958-present) of the CSU system as a whole and deemed
