Biography
The Scientology of the Marina records are part of a larger donation to the Graduate Theological Union Library by Allysyn Kiplinger, whose father, Harry Dell Kiplinger, managed a fledgling office of the Church of Scientology in the San Francisco Marina district from 1970 to 1972. The records document the various functions of the office staff as
they worked to attract new members, to educate and to train them, and to establish the office on a secure financial footing.
Many of the records are administrative, including correspondence written by staff members. Additionally, there are educational
materials and resources, including handwritten notes by Kiplinger, used in the everyday activities and programs of the organization.
Also included are early print and published materials from L. Ron Hubbard's offices in England, Denmark, Australia, and the United States, especially in California.
