    Biographical / Historical

    The Coalition of University Employees (CUE) represents clerical employees within the University of California sytem. Formerly affiliated with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) initially as Local 1695, then rechartered as Local 3211 in 1983; CUE was founded in 1995.

    Content Description

    Consists of the papers of Ina Clausen, related to the Coalition of University Employees, with a special focus on labor issues surrounding the University of California Press.
    Gift included three research papers, added to CUE ephemera: The Coalition of University Employees: The effectiveness of an independent union; Small Sketches from a Larger History of a Union Struggle for Self-Governance at the University if California, Mostly at Berkeley; Perfecting a Union: Clerican Organizing at the University of California, 1966-1999.
