Biography
Miles Goodman was born August 27, 1949 in Los Angeles, CA, and attended Antioch College in Ohio. He began scoring television
shows in the 1970s, and in the late 1980s switched to doing mostly feature films, becoming known primarily for his work in
comedies. He was a frequent collaborator with director Frank Oz, composing music for
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,
What About Bob?, and
Little Shop of Horrors, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination. A fan of jazz music, Goodman also produced several record albums. He died
on August 16, 1996, at his home in Brentwood.
Scope and Content
The collection consists primarily of Miles Goodman's spotting notes and manuscripts for film and television productions in
the 1980s and 1990s, as well as scores for arrangers and performers. There is some material for several unrealized projects
as well as songs written by Goodman, many in collaboration with Douglas Brayfield. There is no personal material.
