Description
George Arthur Rasula (1920-2019)
was a career Army officer who served in World War II, the Korea War, and the Vietnam
War, and fought in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War. The
collection includes letters and ephemera related to the Battle of Chosin Reservoir
during the Korean War, the veterans of this campaign, and the veterans' association,
the Chosin Few.
Background
George Arthur Rasula (1920-2019) was a career Army officer; he served in World War
II, the Korea War, and the Vietnam War. Rasula fought in the Battle of Chosin
Reservoir during the Korean War. During the Vietnam War, from 1962 to 1965, he was
logistics advisor to the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Pentagon and Army Attaché to
the American Embassy in Helsinki. During his military career, from 1942 to 1974, his
ranks included first lieutenant, captain, and colonel. During his retirement, he
became an active member of the Chosin Few, an association of veterans who served in
the Chosin Reservoir campaign. He was the official historian of the association's
journal, The Chosin Few news digest.
