The Pictorial material from the Sonya Rapoport papers collection was given to The Bancroft Library by Sonya Rapoport in 2014.

Biography
Sonya Rapoport was an American conceptual/digital artist. Rapoport was born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 6, 1923. She
studied at Massachusetts College of Art, Boston University and New York University, where she earned a B.A. in Labor Economics
in 1946. She and her husband Henry Rapoport moved to Berkeley, California in 1947. She then continued her education, earning
a masters in art practice in 1949 from the University of California. In the 1970s Rapoport turned her artistic focus to electronic
media, a medium in which she worked until her death in 2014.
