Biographical / Historical
In 1988, the National Endowment for the Humanities awarded a three-year grant to the University of California at Los Angeles
to launch the National Center for History in the Schools. UCLA Professor of Education Charlotte Crabtree, who wrote the winning
proposal, was named the director of the center, and UCLA Professor of History, Gary B. Nash was named the associate director.
Scope and Content
Record Series 667 contains the administrative files of the National Center for History in the Schools. Files include reports;
drafts; standards; scans and artwork; conference and meeting documentation; newsletters, correspondence, and consultant files
regarding American, World, and Ancient History lesson plans; and the operations of the Center.
This is an inactive record series; no additional University records are expected to be added.
