to Chicago, Illinois on April 30, 1971.
Biography
In 1971, the Mendelson family (Donald, Judith, Margo, Daryl, Braddon) rode the Santa Fe "Super Chief" from Los Angeles to
Chicago. This was a three day trip from April 30-May 2, 1971. While they were on the trip, Amtrak took over the line on
May 1, 1971. This was the historic, last Santa Fe passenger service run.
