    Biographical / Historical

    The only biographical information we have is from a pencil written note in this diary which states the following: C.E. Miller Born Nov.16th, 1852/G.W. Miller - Father/W.M. Miller - Mother/Arri ed SF 1852, came rouond the horn in Ship Pioneer wrecked at San Simeon/Came to port on Ship Sea Gull(?), sent down to bring wrecked passengers to SF in 1852/ Dad Came round Horn in the Ship British Queen, landed in S.F./Dec. 28, 1849, Joined the Pioneers/Went to NY via Panama, Married Nancy Maria Springstead,/ and Colston, ruby - Double wedding in NY When Dad and Mother around the Horn in Pioneer, on arrival in SF, lived on Broadway on Telegraph Hill. No other information could be found on Charles E. Miller.
