Chester C. McCullin was born in 1924. He was a Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force during World War II. As a Commander
Pilot, he was assigned to fly dangerous missions from India to China in military transport aircraft, presumably the Douglas
C-47. He supplied the American and Chinese forces with munitions and supplies in their fight against the Japanese by flying
over the Himalayas (dubbed “Hump Pilot”), which were menacing due to lack of navigational charts, radio contact, and weather.
