Biography
Ranald MacDougall was an American director, screenwriter, and producer. He began his film career as a
screenwriter at Warner Bros. in the 1940s. His screenwriting credits range from MILDRED PIERCE (1945) to
CLEOPATRA (1963). He began directing in the mid-1950s and producing in the late 1960s. MacDougall served
as president of the Screen Writers Guild. He married actress Nanette Fabray.
