Description
The Southern California Gas Company (SCGC) Collection (1960-1966) contains legal documents from cases involving oil pipelines
in Southern California. Specifically, cases involving Pemex (Mexico's petroleum company), and the Gulf Pacific Pipeline Company.
SCGC was involved in the Pemex case, in which it unsuccessfully applied to the California Utilities Companies to purchase
natural gas from Texas via a pipeline through Mexico from 1960-1962. During 1963-1966 the company was party to the Gulf Pacific
Case, in which Gulf Pacific unsuccessfully applied to the Federal Power Commission to supply SCGC with natural gas via a pipeline
from Texas.
Material related to Pemex Case (6 boxes) includes California Public Utilities Commission transcripts (67 vols.); docket items
(pleadings, briefs, decisions- 3 vols.); Exhibits (205); and lists of exhibits and witnesses. Gulf Pacific Case material
(19 boxes) includes applications of Transwestern Pipeline, Gulf Pacific Pipeline, and El Paso Natural Gas, and related docket
items; Consolidated Dockets: (pleadings, briefs, decisions, opinions); Federal Power Commission Transcripts (186 volumes);
exhibits (898); and detailed transcript references by witnesses and counsel.
