families. The dates of the materials include the early nineteenth century, post-Civil War, the First World War, and post-Second
World War.
Background
This collection contains materials relating to the Scroggs family in the nineteenth century and two members of the Rogers
family in the twentieth century. The Rogers family members are descendants of one of the Scroggs daughters. The Scroggs family
traces its lineage to Sir William Scroggs, a "distinguished English lawyer and juris in the early part of the 17th century."
