The Gracelia “Gracie” Smith papers consist of working files kept by Ms. Smith, a long-time employee of the Recorder's Office. Initially hired in June 1970, she was promoted to Chief Deputy County Recorder in 1991. Materials include operational and administrative files dating from 1881 to 2012 and include information regarding new laws affecting the Recorder, the County Recorder’s Association of California, and memoranda and other correspondence.
