Walters was MGM's dance director for films like "Presenting Lily Mars" (1943), "Du Barry Was a Lady" (1943), "Best Foot Forward" (1943), and "Girl Crazy" (1943).

    Biographical / Historical

    Charles Walters (1911-1982) was an American director and choreographer. Walters was MGM's dance director for films "Presenting Lily Mars" (1943), "Du Barry Was a Lady" (1943), "Best Foot Forward" (1943), and "Girl Crazy" (1943). He directed films including "Good News" (1947), "Easter Parade" (1948), "The Barkleys of Broadway" (1949), "Three Guys Named Mike" (1951), "Lili" (1953), "The Tender Trap" (1955), and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" (1964). Brent Phillips wrote a book on Walters, "Charles Walters: The Director Who Made Hollywood Dance."
