This album consists of photographs of the construction of the Martinez to Benecia Southern Pacific railroad bridge.
Background
Construction of the Southern Pacific Carquinez Bridge began on May 1, 1929 and the first train ran October 15, 1930. It was
5,603 feet in length. The formal dedication was held on November 1, 1930.
