    Scope and Content

    This collection consists of a newspaper published by the Black Panther Party and other miscellaneous writings and publications associated with the Party. The title of the newspaper changes from The Black Panther Black Community News Service to The Black Panther Intercommunal News Service in February, 1971.
    Miscellaneous writings and publications include: various Black Panther newspapers titled Right On!, The Black Panther Community News Service, and Focus; a statement from the Coalition of Community Groups regarding the attacks on the Black Panther Party; a letter from the Commitee to Defend the Panthers regarding the persecution of the Black Panther Party; and a book titled We Charge Genocide.
    This is not a complete collection. Many issues of The Black Panther Black Community News Service are missing from Volume I, II, X, and XI. Some are also missing from Volume II and IX.
