    Abstract: Sally M. Miller (1937 April 13-2019 February 22) was a Professor of History at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Miller met Margaret (Peg) Keranen (1936 November 8-2007 January 17) while they were students at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in the 1950s. In their senior years (1957-1958 academic year) they became lovers and would remain together until Keranen’s death. The collection includes Miller’s diaries, covering the years 1948-1959; extensive correspondence between Miller and Keranen, particularly during the years Miller taught at Michigan State University (1965-1966), in England (1978-1979), New Zealand (1986), and Finland (1996); photographs dating to the 1950s to the 2000s; a manuscript of Miller’s memoir “Five Decades, Two Women;” a small amount of correspondence with both Miller and Keranen’s parents; albums of artistic photographs and large format photographic prints taken by Keranen in the late-1990s and early 2000s; and award certificates for Miller.
