The collection was transferred to Special Collections and University Archives by Kathleen Marshall, Assistant to the Provost,
on June 12, 2014.
Historical note
As the chief academic officer of the University, the Provost has responsibility, under the President, for the administration,
coordination, and development of all academic activities and functions of the University. The Provost works with the deans
of Pepperdine's undergraduate college and four graduate/professional schools on all issues related to effective planning and
management of the University's academic resources. In addition, the Provost also oversees the library, the Office of Institutional
Effectiveness, the Office of the Registrar and One-Stop, Information Technology, the Center for Faith and Learning, the Center
for Media, Culture, and Entertainment, the Disability Services Office, and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of interoffice memoranda and correspondence sent by or to Pepperdine Provosts from 1965 to 2006. Topics
include meeting notices for various Pepperdine clubs and committees, faculty tenure policies, foundations, university programs,
scholarships, club and committee proposals, budget proposals, and routine administrative activities.
Arrangement
The collection is organized alphabetically by folder title.
