Ermete Passera was born in Italy in 1902, and immigrated to the United States in 1919. He worked in his uncle's grocery store
and then for L'Italia newspaper. He was also a sports reporter for La Gazzetta dello Sport, and later worked for the Italian
Cemetery. Passera was a longtime member of the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club.
Contains documents collected by Ermete Passera including work-related items from the Model Fruit Market and La Gazzetta dello
Sport and L'Italia newspapers; San Francisco Italian Athletic Club papers and photographs including a panorama of the club's
1925 Thanksgiving Day race; and school photographs.
