This collection consists of material from the Bruce & Rachel Jeffer Collection of WPA/Federal Writers Project and related New Deal material. The items include histories, guide books, manuals, bulletins, references, research files, costume plates and other works. There are 39 large posters from the Museum Extension Project in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The posters are part of the Asiatic plates series and depict men and women in traditional costumes from Asian countries and ethnicities. Many of the materials are unpublished or unpublished versions of works that were later published. The collection represents works from projects from California, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and West Virginia.
