Francisco Bay area and surrounding counties.
Background
The Barbary Coast Boating Club is a Northern California gay and lesbian boating club for those interested in all aspects of
on-water fun. The club was established in 1982 to provide a safe environment that would foster camaraderie, fun and the enjoyment
of boating and other water activities in the company of gay men and lesbians. There are club members from all nine counties
bordering San Francisco Bay and in many cities in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
Restrictions
All requests for permission to publish or quote from manuscripts must be submitted in writing to the City Archivist. Permission
for publication is given on behalf of the San Francisco Public Library as the owner of the physical items.
Availability
The collection is available for use during San Francisco History Center hours.
