This collection contains dockets of misdemeanor charges brought before the Santa Rosa City Court. Some of the records of the
City Court are listed with the former name of Recorder's Court.
Background
The Santa Rosa City Court was a municipal-level court that handled misdemeanor offenses. The Santa Rosa City Court was the
the successor to the Santa Rosa Recorder's Court, came under the jurisdiction of the Sonoma County Municipal Court following
court reorganization and consolidation. The Sonoma County Municipal Court was itself absorbed into the Superior Court following
the voter-authorized reorganization in 1998, California Proposition 220.
Restrictions
Property rights reside with the Sonoma County Library. The Sonoma County Library has made this collection available and believes
