The Bissinger and Company records were transferred to The Bancroft Library from the Judah
L. Magnes Museum in 2010.

There are no alternative forms of this collection.
In 1880, Bissinger and Company, an outgrowth of the Alaska Commercial Company, was
organized in San Francisco. It specialized in hides, wool, and related articles and
maintained tanneries, slaughterhouses, and offices in Oregon, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Montana,
Washington, California, and British Columbia.
