    Abstract: This collection contains correspondence, articles, press clippings, maps, and photographs regarding the professional life of Elden H. Vestal, a fisheries biologist who worked for the California Department of Fish and Game. Vestal worked in the Mono Basin from 1939-1950, and played a role in legal proceedings regarding Mono Lake in the 1980s and 1990s. The collection focuses on Mono Lake and other Eastern Sierra lakes and rivers.
