Know Ye that for good causes for and in consideration of the composition to me paid and for the annual Rent hereafter reserved I have given granted and confirmed And by these presents form my heirs and Asigns do give grant and confirm unto Daniel Pursley of Frederick County a certain tract of vaste and ungranted Land in the said county on Potomack River and bounded as by a Survey thereof made by Mr. George Washington as followeth...."

Tripartite agreement between Robert and Ann Milliken [husband and wife] and Milligan & Kyle [a company] on the back of the said document: "Know all men by these presents that Robert Milliken and Ann his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand three hundred dollars to them well and truly paid by Crawford Kyle the receipt and payment whereof they do hereby acknowledge have remised released and forever quit claimed and by these presents do remise release and forever quit claim unto The said Crawford Kyle and to his heirs and assigns all [deed] right, title, interest and claim whatsoever to [LACUNA] the within mentioned and described lot of three acres and thirty one perches of ground with the appurtenances thereunto belonging."

Quadripartite Agreement between George H. and Kate Williams [husband and wife], John N. Alvord, and George W. Stickney Text from the document: "This Indenture, made this twenty sixth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy two, between George H Williams + Kate his wife of Portland Oregon of the first part, and John N. Alvord. and GEORGE W. STICKNEY, of the City of Washington, D.C., of the second part: Whereas the said Geo. H. Williams is justly indebted unto the Freedman's Savings and Trust Company in the sum of fifteen thousand Dollars, for which he has executed and delivered to the said Savings and Trust Company his promissory note, dated July 26th, 1872, and payable one year after date with interest at the rate of ten per centum per annum, payable semi-annually until paid; and he desirous to secure the punctual payment of said note, when and as the same shall become due and payable, with all interest and costs due and accruing thereon, the said parties of the first part, do therefore execute these presents. Now therefore this Indenture Witnesseth That the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the premises aforesaid, and further the sum of one dollar, in lawful money of the United States, to them in hand paid by the said parties of the second part, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, and conveyed, and doth by these presents, grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release and convey unto the parties of the second part, and the survivor of them..." Witnesses were Peter Ardley and Daniel Overett Text from the document: "The Manor of the General Court Baron and Stisted Hall customary Court of The Reverend Charles Onley clerk Lord of the said Manor holden for the said Manor on Monday the eighth day of July In the fifty first year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of the united Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the faith And in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven Before John Edward Walford Gentlemen Steward therof. Also the Homage aforesaid do find and present that since the last Court and before this Court (that is to say) on the twenty sixth Day of September now last Past John Spurgeon of Stisted in the County of Essex Harmer a copyhold or customary Tenant of this Manor for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred and five Pounds to him in Hand paid by John Greenwood the younger of Halsted in the said County Ironmonger did out of Court by the Rod surrender into the Hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Hands and acceptable of Isaac Sewell the Younger Gentleman in place of the Bailiff and in the presence of Peter Ardley and Daniel Overett two other customary or copyhold Tenants of the said Manor they witnessing the same according to the custom thereof All that Croft of Customary Land wth the appurtenances called Hurrells Craft containing by Estimation three acres more or less lying and being in Stisted aforesaid and holden of the said Manor of Stisted Hall by copy of Court Roll as the same was theretofore in the Tenure or Occupation of Samuel Finch his undertenants or assigns late of Joseph Bickmore and then of the said John Spurgeon his assigns or undertenants / to which said Croft of Land the said John Spurgeon was admitted Tenant on the sixteenth Day of August one thousand eight hundred and four on the surrender of Joseph Bickmore and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders thereof and all the Estate Right Title and Interest whatsoever of him the said John Spurgeon of in and to the same Premises To the only use and Behoof of the said John Greenwood his Heirs and assigns forever absolutely according to the Custom of the said Manor as by the said surrender reference being thereto had will appear whereupon..."

Agreement of the Last Will and Testament of William Ashwell to his wife, Mary Ashwell Text from the document: "This is the last will and testament of Willam Ashwell of Burgh in the county of Suffolk yeoman made this seventh day of January one thousand eight hundred and ten first I will that all such debts as shall be by me owing at my death together with my funeral and testimony expenses be fully paid and satisfied... I give and devise unto Mary my affectionate wife all that my message or tenement wherein from I will with the Land and hereditaments thereunto belonging together also with my household furniture Goods chattels and personal Estate of every description to hold to her her heirs and assigns for and during the [illegible] of her natural life and from and after her..." The first document on the front: "By the Favor of these presents We John gooch clerk Master of arts Official in and throughout the archeology of Suffolk lawfully constituted make known to all. Men. That on the twenty seventh Day of November in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and fifteen Before the Reverend Robert Reynolds Clerk and [illegible] of Burgh in the county of Suffolk with [coorial?] announced The last Will and Testament of William Ashwell late...[illegible]...hereunto annexed was proved approved and registered and Administration of all and Singular the goods Chattells and Credits of the deceased and any way concerning his said Will was then only granted to William Ashwell and John Wood Executors named in the said Will they being first Sworn upon the Holy Evangelist well and faithfully to administer the same and make a true and perfect Inventory of all and Singular the said Goods Chattels and Credits..." At this Court came Thomas Huller English Esquire in person and brought here into Court a certain writing or Letter of attorney under the hand and seal of the Right Honourable Edward Lord Harewood which is found and presented by the late homage to be there and which said writing or Letter of Attorney and the attestation thereof is in the words [a or of?] following to wit- To all to whom these prosented shall come The Right and Honourable Edward Lord Harewood Baron of Harewood in the County of York sends a Greeting Whereas the Right Honourable Edwin late Lord Harewood deceased [formerly Edwin Lascelles Esquire] being seized to him and his heirs of and in the copyhold or customary Lands hereditaments and promised hereinafter particularly mentioned according to the Custom of the Manor of Bocking in the county of Essex and situate lying and being within the same Manor at a General Court Baron hold for the said manor be the said Edwin Lord Harewood [by his then name of Edwin Lascelles Esquire] on the tenth day of June one thousand seven-hundred and ninety one surrendered the said Lands...."
