    Scope and Contents

    This collection contains the scripts of American screenwriter and producer Larry Rhine (1910-2000) and American actress Hazel Shermet (1920-2016). Larry Rhine wrote for radio and television programs. Hazel Shermet was an actress for radio, theater, film, and television. Robert Rhine, their son and an actor and writer, contributed to the collecting of these scripts.

    Biographical / Historical

    Larry Rhine (1910-2000) was an American producer and screenwriter for radio and television. He worked on the radio programs " The Life of Riley," "Private Secretary," and "Duffy's Tavern." Rhine wrote television episodes for the series "Mister Ed," "The Red Skelton Hour," "Bachelor Father," "The Tom Ewell Show," "The Bob Hope Show," "The Brady Bunch," and "All in the Family."
    Hazel Shermet (1920-2016) was an American actress, comedian, voice actor, and singer for radio, television, television commercials, film, and theater. Shermet appeared in television series including "The Addams Family," "The Beverly Hillbillies," "My Favorite Martian," "The Patty Duke Show," "That Girl," "I Dream of Jeannie," "The Facts of Life," "Gimme a Break!" and "Punky Brewster." She also was in the films "A Star Is Born" (1954), "Rockabilly Baby" (1957), "Auntie Mame" (1958), "The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond" (1960), "Gypsy" (1962), "Bye Bye Birdie" (1963), "Love at First Bite" (1979), and "Body Slam" (1986). Hazel Shermet and Larry Rhine met while making the radio program "Duffy's Tavern" and married in 1950.
    Robert Rhine is the son and second child of Larry Rhine and Hazel Shermet. Robert Rhine is an American writer, producer, publicist, and actor. He worked as unit publicist in the 1990s for the films "Tremors" (1990), "Problem Child" (1990), "Toy Soldiers" (1991), "The Craft" (1996), "Double Team" (1997), and "Hush" (1998). Robert Rhines work focuses on horror, including the comic books he has written.
