Background
Brothers Bernhard and Henry Sinsheimer started Sinsheimer Bros., a general merchandise store in San Luis Obispo, in 1876.
Bernhard ran the business and Henry acted as purchasing agent in San Francisco until 1898 when the partnership dissolved.
Bernhard Sinsheimer then established Sinsheimer and Co., a grain and beans broker, in San Francisco. Older brother A.Z. Sinsheimer
reorganized the San Luis Obispo buiness.
