The Shelley Hoyt Archive was purchased from bookseller Jeff Maser in 2022.

Shelley Jean Hoyt is a Bay Area painter, typographer, and book artist. She received her BFA in Painting and Drawing from the
University of Montana, Missoula. In 1974, she co-founded Black Stone Press in Missoula, Montana with her husband, Peter Rutledge
Koch. Hoyt was married to Peter Koch from 1975 until 1984.
Processed at the series level by Lara Michels and processing student assistant Malayna Chang in 2023.
Collection consists of printing project files, binding models and binding experiments, and materials relating to Shelley Hoyt's
career as a bookbinder and book artist.
