A number of documents in the collection refer to H. A. Flint or Flint family members. Henry Flint was an early Ventura County
pioneer farmer/rancher in Santa Paula and Saticoy. Upon his death, Flint's property was sold to the Leavens family. Charles
Leavens was the family member designated to inventory the Flint property and papers. These papers remained in Mr. Leavens'
possession at the time of his death, and thus have become a part of this collection.
Acquisition Information
This collection was donated to the museum by Mary Leavens Schwabauer, a second cousin of Charles Leavens, on February 16,
1996. Contents of the collection were found by Charles Leavens' daughter, Charla Leavens-Murray, among her father's papers
after his death in 1995.
