Solid Principles podcast, founded by Craig Barnes and John Cronin, was a semi-regular podcast focused on domestic political issues from a
conservative perspective. The
Solid Principles podcast and the
Solid Principles Report ran from June 2009 to February 2012.
Scope and Content of Collection
The collection consists of podcast interviews and digital files relating to the
Solid Principles podcast. Founded by Craig Barnes and John Cronin, the
Solid Principles podcast was a semi-regular podcast focused on domestic political issues from a conservative perspective. The
Solid Principles podcast and the
Solid Principles Report ran from June 2009 to February 2012.
Of particular interest is the podcast's coverage of early Tea Party rallies in 2009 and the 2010 mid-term election cycle.
Included are interviews with teaparty.org founder Dale Robertson, Phyllis Schlafly, Jackie Mason, Chuck DeVore, Mark Shurtleff,
Danny Tarkanian, Paul LePage, Roy Blunt, and John Dennis. Other topics addressed include citizen conservativism, modern secessionist
movements (Texas Nationalist Movement, Alaskan Independence Party, and the Second Vermont Republic), and the 2009 Notre Dame
University controversy.
In addition to the audio recordings, this collection also includes digital photographs of Tea Party rallies and events, interview
questions and notes, and video, as well as the political artwork associated with the podcast.
