This collection consists of the personal and business papers of Robert F. Jani (1934-1989). He was a creator, director and
executive producer of musical spectaculars, television productions, pageants and extravaganzas, celebrations, international
events, parades, arena shows and sports events, world premieres and openings, pyrotechnic shows, expositions, and theme parks.
Mr. Jani was a founder of USC Songfest and principal of Robert F. Jani Productions, Inc. He graduated from the University
of Southern California in 1956.
Background
Robert Jani (1934-1989) was an American event producer who specialized in spectacular events. He was affiliated with the Walt
Disney Company and some of its most famous entertainment events, including the Main Street Electrical Parade. He has also
been credited with producing the 1976 U.S. Bicentennial Celebration in New York Harbor and the Super Bowl's half-time entertainment.
Jani graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Telecommunications and Stage Production
and Design.
