The
Thomas F. Larwin San Diego Trolley Collection documents the development of the San Diego Trolley in the early 1980s, and expansion of trolley service through the early
2000s. The collection includes news and press clippings; reports on national developments in light rail transit (LRT) systems;
Metropolitan Transit Development Board (MTDB) correspondence, memoranda, and news; MTDB newsletters. Also present is a large
collection of 35mm color photographs (slides) documenting the development of the San Diego Trolley from the 1980s-early 2000s,
as well as photographs of other light rail transit systems from around globe. The collection also includes a wide range of
San Diego Trolley related memorabilia; including service maps, service announcements, schedules, and marketing materials such
as souvenir tickets, label pins, patches, and key chains.
This collection is open for research.
The copyright interests in these materials have not been transferred to San Diego State University. Copyright resides with
the creators of materials contained in the collection or their heirs. The nature of historical archival and manuscript collections
