Biographical / Historical
Hjalmar Hermanson (1907–1994) was an American set designer. Hermanson worked on theater productions, as well as television
series such as "Toast of the Town," "Here and Now," "NBC News," and "The Kate Smith Show." From 1946 to 1948 he was the designer
for Kaj Velden Studios. Following this he worked for CBS, then NBC.
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of the set drawings and photographs of American set designer, Hjalmar Hermanson (1907–1994). Photographs
include sets he did for theaters. His set drawings are largely pencil sketches. Hermanson worked on theater productions, as
well as television series such as "Toast of the Town," "Here and Now," "NBC News," and "The Kate Smith Show."
