Description
The Raisin Committee collection contains reports on the harvest of raisins and statistical data.
Background
The Raisin Administrative Committee was created in 1949 due to the Agricultural Marketing Agreement Act of 1937. Along with the creation of the Raisin Administrative Committee, the Federal Raisin Advisory Board was also created. The Raisin Administrative Committee and the Federal Raisin Advisory Board have a set number of producer, handler, dehydrator representatives, and raisin bargaining association representatives' members depending on the year and who is in the committee at that time. With these members there are alternate members who are in alternative spots to the specified members. The Federal Raisin Advisory Board members' term expires after three years while the Raisin Administrative Committee members' expire after a one year term.
