Abstract: The collection includes manuscripts, research notes, illustrations, and other material pertaining to Jack Harness, an American
Science Fiction and Fantasy fan and writer who was active in Los Angeles, California during the 1970's and 1980's. Includes
stories and poetry by Jack Harness and other authors including Mike Shupp and Sylvia Stevens as well as written commentary
and research notes that pertain to Harness' numerous manuscripts, poetry, and collaborative works. Different forms of visual
imagery with an emphasis on illustration and costume design are also included.

Biographical Note
Jack Harness was an American Science Fiction and Fantasy fan and writer who was active in Los Angeles, California during the
1970's and 1980's. He was a member of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society (LASFS) and an active participant in the fandom
communities of Science Fiction and Fantasy.
Collection Scope and Contents
The collection includes manuscripts, research notes, illustrations, and other material pertaining to Jack Harness and his
involvement in the genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy. Includes stories and poetry by Jack Harness and other authors including
Mike Shupp and Sylvia Stevens as well as written commentary and research notes that pertain to Harness' numerous manuscripts,
poetry, and collaborative works. Different forms of visual imagery with an emphasis on illustration and costume design are
also included.
