Biographical/Historical note
Robert Mittelstadt is a practicing architect in San Francisco, California. Mittelstadt received a bachelor’s degree in architecture
from the University of Minnesota, a master’s degree in architecture from Yale University, and received the Rome Prize Fellowship
at the American Academy in Rome. After school, Mittelstadt worked in the offices of Eero Saarinen, Henry Weese, Paul Rudolph,
The Architects Collaborative, Hellmuth, Obata, & Kassabaum as well as the office of Gensler & Associates. Mittelstadt also
taught architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, Cal Poly, Pomona, and at Stanford University.
Scope and Content note
The Robert Mittelstadt drawings of the Tuteur house span 3 linear feet and date from 1974. The collection consists of one
flat file folder containing four architectural drawings in the form of reprographic copies. Drawings include exterior elevations
and floor plans.
