Historical note
The Pepperdine Associates is a Pepperdine University support group comprised of donors, alumni, and community friends. The
program was started in 1977; members are invited to various events and to be involved on campus, including annual Associates
dinners. Since 2009, members have been able to designate their individual gifts to various schools or programs, including
Pepperdine University Associates, Crest Associates, Education and Psychology Associates, Graziadio School Executive Associates,
Law School Associates, Public Policy Associates, Seaver College Associates and Seaver Parent Associates, Athletics Associates,
Center for the Arts Associates, and Pepperdine University Library Associates.
Scope and Content
The collection contains printed material, photographic material, and audiovisual material created by and collected about the
Pepperdine Associates. Printed materials include invitations and programs from annual Associates dinners and other ephemera.
Photographic materials include photographs, negatives, and slides. Audiovisual materials include recordings of annual dinners
on VHS, DVD, CD, and audiocassette.
Arrangement
The collection is arranged in the following three series: 1. Printed Material; 2. Photographs, Slides and Negatives; and 3.
Audiovisual Material.
Related Archival Materials
Extensive files on the Pepperdine Associates as a group and about individual members of Pepperdine Associates can be found
in the M. Norvel and Helen Young Papers. Another collection, the Crest Associates Records, includes videorecordings taken
during multiple years of the Crest Lecture Series, a lecture series sponsored by the Crest Associates (a sub-group of the
Pepperdine Associates).
