Background
Charles Scott Benson (1922-1994) was a professor of education at U.C. Berkeley from 1964-1991. The central theme of his work
is the role of of education in reducing economic and social inequality. He worked in Pakistan, Egypt and Bulgaria as an educator
and consultant. His other academic interests included econometrics, vocational education and educational finance.
