Description
This collection contains a letter Gary McDonald wrote to his mother in 1962 and a souvenir booklet from a production of The Wizard of Oz, which was staged as a benefit for Operation Concern in August 1975. McDonald came to San Francisco in 1963 and lived in the city most of his adult life, until he died in 1986. He was involved with the Tavern Guild, the Community Softball League and the Imperial Court and was an early director of Operation Concern. The letter was McDonald’s attempt to reconcile with his mother after a year’s absence.
